The elbow is one of the most intricate areas of the body and vulnerable to injury. There are a number of different causes of pain from the elbow joint or the tendons and nerves that surround the joint that may be injured. These injuries occur in patients of all ages and especially in throwing athletes or in racquet sports. Some of the most common conditions include tennis and golfers elbow, instability, biceps and triceps tendon rupture, ulnar neuritis, arthritis and fracture.
Dr. Mantell utilizes arthroscopic as well as minimally invasive open surgery to treat injuries of the elbow in patients either young or old. Biologic injections may be utilized as well to treat chronic injuries in place of surgery.
